INTRODUCTION

Release consolidation in IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS) refers to the process of combining multiple order lines into a single releases to optimize shipping efficiency and reduce costs.

CONFIGURATION

Application Platform (switch organization)  – Process Modeling – Order – Order Fulfillment – Right Click – Details – Templates

Choose Release Consolidation

SCENARIO 1

Consolidated releases are created based on the ship node parameter of the order line.

  • Order Line 1 allocated to Ware house 02
  • Order Line 2 & 3 allocated to Ship node 02

Released

Releases for order lines #2 and #3 are consolidated because they have the same ship node. In contrast, order line #1 has a different ship node, so its release is created separately.

SCENARIO 2

Based on extended attribute of the order line, release can be consolidated.

Configuration : Include order line level extended parameter – PreOrderLine

Creating the order

  • Order Line 1 has PreOrderLine as N
  • Order Line 2 & 3 has PreOrderLine as Y

Released

Releases for order lines #2 and #3 are consolidated because they have PreOrderLine as Y. In contrast, order line #1 has PreOrderLine as N, so its release is created separately.
